The Trio Metastasio, composed of soprano Carolina Lippo, baritone Matteo Loi and pianist Arabella Cortesi, was formed in Vienna in 2023.
The three musicians met at the historic Theater an der Wien and the Wiener Kammeroper, where they collaborated on a permanent basis for two consecutive seasons.

Although Italian opera singing has recently been awarded the title of untouchable cultural heritage by UNESCO, the Italian vocal chamber repertoire by Italian composers and in the Italian language is still so little explored that much of it has never been performed in modern times.

The Trio's work also includes identifying and recovering these works from Italian and European music libraries.
